The ARCA Menards Series race at Dover Motor Speedway kicked off with drama on Sunday as a multi-car pileup unfolded in the very first lap. While several drivers were caught in the mayhem, Cody Rose’s team managed to navigate through the wreckage unscathed. However, their relief was short-lived.

Despite avoiding the crash, Rose’s team found themselves facing a different challenge when officials handed down a penalty for an unsafe pit exit. The infraction occurred when their car advanced onto the track before the designated blue cone, a violation of safety protocols.

“It was a rollercoaster of emotions,” Rose said after the race. “We thought we’d lucked out avoiding that first lap mess, but then got hit with the penalty. It’s frustrating, but rules are rules, and we’ll learn from this.”

The penalty forced Rose to serve a drive-through, costing valuable time and track position early in the race. Despite the setback, the team fought hard to make up ground throughout the remainder of the event.

Looking ahead, Rose and his crew are already focusing on next week’s race at Charlotte Motor Speedway. “Dover was tough, but that’s racing,” Rose commented. “We’re putting it behind us and gearing up for Charlotte. The team’s been working hard, and I think we’ve got a real shot at a strong finish there.”

As the ARCA series moves to Charlotte, all eyes will be on Rose and his team to see if they can bounce back from the Dover setback and make their mark on the legendary 1.5-mile track.
